Anna Jane Elmore Walker, 77, Green Co., KY (1946-2023)

Anna Jane Elmore Walker of the Gabe Community of Green County departed this life on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. She was 77 years old.

The funeral services for Anna Jane Elmore Walker will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Wednesday until time of the funeral service.


Anna Jane Elmore Walker, daughter of the late Roman Elmore and Mary Susan Rattliff Elmore, was born on Thursday, January 31, 1946 near Summersville in the Lobb Community of Green County.

She will be remembered by all who knew her for her gentle spirit and her many acts of kindness and generosity. She sought to find positives in life and treat everyone she met with kindness. She had made a profession of faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. She later attended Mt. Tabor Baptist in Buffalo, Kentucky and Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greensburg. She was a graduate of Green County High School Class of 1964 and continued her education at Campbellsville College and for a brief time at Western Kentucky University. She was employed many years with Fruit of the Loom and the Green County School District.

Survived by her husband of 56 years, Marion Walker of the Gabe Community having united in marriage on November 24, 1966 at the home of Rev. Clellon Rattliff.

Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jeff and Zola Walker of Greensburg, and Tyler Walker of Glasgow; two grandchildren: Logan Walker and wife, Patricia, and Landon Walker and wife, Annabeth all of Greensburg; six great-grandchildren: Milo, Cami, Bodie, Hudson, Roman and Emmy Walker all of Greensburg; a brother: James Lee Elmore of Summersville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
