Dorothy Fletcher, 101, Columbia, KY (1921-2023)

Dorothy Ellen England Fletcher of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was 101 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10amCT on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


She was born on May 30, 1921, in Breeding, Ky to the late James and Nancy Ethel England. She was preceded in death by her husband James Ervin Fletcher.

Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Glensfork United methodist Church and a former member of the Glensfork Homemakers Club. She and her husband were the former part owners and operators of Warner Fertilizer, and she enjoyed quilting, cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons Charles Fletcher (Claudett) and Billy Fletcher (Anita) both of Columbia, KY; a daughter-in-law Loretta Fletcher of Columbia, KY; son-in-law Doug Estes of Elizabethtown, KY; seven grandchildren Angie Collier (Richard Cromer), Kim Barnett (Chad), Kevin Fletcher (Tina), Renae Smith (Barry), Bridget Long (Bill), Steven Fletcher (Joy), and Melissa Cecil; two step-grandchildren Kevin and Kristin Estes; great grandchildren Connor and Keegan Fletcher, Keely and Jack Long, Easton Ellis (Kathryn), Emily Burris (Ryan), Kisha Cooper (Thomas), Evan Fletcher (Emily), Wesley Fletcher (Ashley), Todd Smith (Melissa), Elizabeth Madewell (Zack), Jeff Manning (Tori), Levi Cecil, Kenlee Nellen, Callie Cromer and Walton Cromer; great great grandchildren Kaseton, Callan, Ellison, Jase, Cora, Kitt, Lane, Layla, Rory, Remi, Jackson, and Tymbre; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two children Sandra Estes and Bobby Fletcher; a son-in-law Randy Collier and eight siblings Owe, Fred, Orville, Ode, Eola, Mary, Estelle, and Ella.

Pallbearer will be Steven Fletcher, Kevin Fletcher, Barry Smith, Chad Barnett, Jeff Manning, and Bill Long. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
