James Martin (Marty) Brewner, 59, North Vernon, IN (1963-2023) James Martin "Marty" Brewner, 59, of North Vernon, passed away on February 5, 2023, at his residence. In keeping with his wishes, cremation is planned, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Born May 1, 1963, in Columbus, he was the son of Loretta (Terry) Goodin and the late Gary Brewner. He was with his very loving and special companion, Glenda Farmer, for eight years. Marty served in the United States Army for ten years and worked for Animal Control in Jennings County. He was a member of Am Vet's Post #7 in North Vernon and a former member of the Moose Lodge and The Eagles Lodge, both in North Vernon. Marty enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Loretta and Danny Goodin of Columbia, Kentucky; companion, Glenda Farmer of North Vernon; sister, Fawnda (Rob) Fields of Plant City, Florida; nephew, Hunter Crowe of Kentucky; and nieces, Mariah Crowe of North Vernon, Stephanie Bragg of Florida, and Jolie Crowe of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father, and his nephew, Jeremy Goodin. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Marty to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc. This obituary is a courtesy to the family by Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
