How to find vehicle property taxes

From Lisa Greer, Adair County Clerk

Adair County Clerk Lisa Greer sends the following tutorial to find the amount you paid in property tax on your vehicle in 2022, which you'll want to have handy when you file your income taxes.

Please follow the steps below:
  1. Have your VIN # ready. You can find the VIN for your car on your insurance card, vehicle title, or the Certificate of Registration* you received from us when you licensed your vehicle.

  2. Visit the "Vehicle Tax paid in 2022" page at Drive.ky.gov

  3. Enter your VIN # and press "Search"
*Note: If you have your Certificate of Registration for 2022, look on the bottom right corner. The Ad Valorem Tax is the amount of property tax that you paid.
