CPD: Columbia man arrested for trafficking

The Columbia Police Department responded to a suspicious person call Tuesday afternoon, January 17, 2023, in the vicinity of Tutt Street and Burksville Street.

A male subject was located at FiveStar on Hudson Street matching the description of the suspicious person call-in. While speaking to the male party, officers received a call of subject dropping belongings on a property on Grissom Street off of Tutt Street. The belongings were found to contain suspected narcotics and $1,895 in cash.

The male subject stated to officers that he had used methamphetamine earlier in the day. After party was searched he was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.


Larin Stotts, 39, of Columbia, was placed into custody and has been charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine 1st degree.

Officer Holly Necessary was the arresting officer, assisted on scene by Sgt. Evan Burton and Chief Jr. Murphy.
