Elderay Walters, 76, Russell Springs, KY (1946-2023) Elderay Walters of Russell Springs passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Russell County Hospital. He was 76 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 1pmCT on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother David Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home. Born on September 17, 1946, in Russell County, he was a son of the late Artist "R.T." and Mary Easter Walters. Elderay was a retired mechanic, having worked at Russell Sportswear, Fruit of the Loom, and Palm Beach. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Elderay deeply loved his family and spending time with them. He is survived by his sons, Troy (and Ann) Walters of Russell Springs, and Jordan (and Brooke) Walters of Somerset; his daughter, Lisa Keltner (and Todd Lanham) of Columbia; six grandchildren, Landon Walters, Logan Walters, Megan (and Dustin) Knight, Amber Penick (and Cody Martin), Haydn Walters, and Everleigh Walters; three great-grandchildren, Kailey Penick, Lily Penick, and Jayden Bishop; and one sister, Diana (and Mike) Gurley of Somerset. In addition to his parents, Elderay was preceded in death by his brothers, Royce Walters, Dean Walters and Rancel Walters; and his sister, Wanda Lucas. Landon Walters, Logan Walters, Dustin Knight, Chad Henderson, Jeremy Thomas, and Todd Lanham will serve as pallbearers. Brian Walters, David Walters, and Mike Gurely will be honorary pallbearers.
