Schools and community working on future goals

Meeting two of the AC Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) was held Tuesday at the Adair County Extension Office for discussion of next steps.

Every voice from all sectors is invited to participate to help create a well-rounded profile of success for every student.



The Adair County School District is working with Dr. James Neihof, Co-Director of Deeper Learning at the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative to gather strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats affecting the future of local public schools.

The next meeting will be advertised in advance so everyone who wants to contribute may attend.

Superintendent Pamela Stephens welcomed all those who filled the Extension Office conference room to the second AC schools planning and goal setting meeting Tuesday. She welcomed educators as well as all community members to participate.

The future of us

The Future of Us - that's the name of the presentation reminding everyone from all walks of life in Adair County that we are in charge of what our schools are now and will be in the future for the students passing through our lives. Longtime educator Dr. James Neihof led the second workshop in the series which will continue through the coming months.

ACES Principal talks about certification

Adair County Elementary School Principal, Sommer Brown, and her SWOT exercise group responded to a question about how teachers are certified. Topics came from different groups assembled by birth month to make sure there was a good mix of educators and community members in each. The work of identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats was very enlightening.
