Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until NoonCT

Mike Keltner, Director of Adair Co. Emergency Management sends word from this morning's Severe Storm and Heavy Rain Briefing.

The National Weather Service in Louisville issued the following hazardous weather outlook at 6:03amET on Thursday, January 12, 2023, for a portion of Central Kentucky that includes Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, and Taylor Counties:

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move across the area this morning and into the early afternoon hours. A few of the storms may become strong-to-severe, with damaging wind gusts being the main severe threat. Isolated large hail is also possible, and one or two brief tornadoes cannot be ruled out, though the overall threat is low.
