Down by the Green River

By Phillip Coffey

The city park down by the Green River beckoned me to take a walk among The fallen leaf litter from the hardwood and some Dawn Redwood trees-abundance.

I took off, not speeding, there to be greeted by smiling people with pets, Lots of awaiting cats, squirrels doing their gathering- long before the blustery Winter storms are threatening to take up conceiving.

My old bones and tendons be mighty sore and much unheard creaking
But I pushed aside all the thoughts of not accomplishing my peace within And often loathing all the clouds of discomfort daily mimicked by the social media.

Taking up my traveling along the upgraded path in both circular directions.
Seeing all sides bent toward the sunny blue skies as if I were in Eden.
Too quickly withdrew from that setting by the local government for such feelings
Knowing much can be accomplished in trust by all with believing.
