Linda Kessler, 72, Adair Co., KY (1950-2022)

Linda Grant Kessler, of the Portland community in Adair County, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 8:04 P.M. at U.K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was 72 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amCT on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Columbia Church of Christ, 501 Jamestown St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Martin and Bro. Doug Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested on Sunday after 4pmCT at Columbia Church of Christ, and after 7amCT on Monday at Columbia Church of Christ.


She was born July 20, 1950, in Adair County, to the late Lucy Geraldine Davidson Grant and Hershel Grant.

Linda was an active member of Columbia Church of Christ, former member of the Portland Homemakers and was well known in the community for her wedding cakes, birthday cakes and whatever occasion a cake was needed. She was a retired educator, teaching for the Adult Education Program and for 30 years taught in the Math Department at Lindsey Wilson College. She loved her students and they loved the influence she had on their lives.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband - Edward Kessler of Portland
  • Three sons - Eddie Kessler (Tiffany) and Kevin Kessler (Arlinda) all of Columbia, Timothy Kessler of Lexington
  • One brother - David Grant (Vanessa Flinchum) of Campbellsville
  • Two sisters - Patsy Melton (Bill) of Lexington and Ann Martin (Steve) of Columbia
  • A brother-in-law who was more like a son, Donald Kessler (Christy) of Somerset
  • Seven grandchildren - Jeremy, Artemis, Jeralyn, Kyla, Colin, Keaton and Kasey
  • One great-grandchild - Peyton
  • Several other relatives and friends
Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren
