Vontrice J. Brown, 90, Russell Co., KY native (1932-2022) Vontrice J. Brown passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Willowbend Living Center in Muncie, IN. She was 90 years old. The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens Of Memory. Calling will be on Wednesday from NoonET until 2pmET at Garden View Funeral Home. She was born August 19, 1932 in Russell Springs, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ota and Wilmorth "Hughes" Smith. She had worked for Ball State University in dining services, retiring in 1995. She was a member of True Light Baptist Church. She married Alvin Brown on September 23, 1950 and was married almost 44 years before his passing on February 8, 1994. She is survived by her son: Michael Brown of Muncie, IN., daughter: Terri (Bradley) Conatser of Muncie IN., 9 grandchildren:, 21 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son Jerry Brown, 2 daughters Jonell Carr, Jackie Hancher and 1 grandson Nathan Kelly and 1 brother Carlie Smith. The family would like a special thank you to go to Karen Buck and the staff at Willowbend. Garden View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
