Delbert Corbin, 92, Columbia, KY (1930-2022) Delbert Corbin of Columbia died on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2:14 A.M. at his home. He was 92 years old. The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Haven Mission Church, 300 Merchant St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery, will full military honors presented by V.F.W. Post 6097. Visitation is requested after 11amCT on Wednesday at Haven Mission Church. He was born April 22, 1930, in Adair County, to the late Thomas and Ida Mae Stotts Corbin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby son, Nicholas Homer Corbin and a step-son, Steve Lankford. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and was instrumental in establishing Haven Mission Church in Columbia. He attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia after answering the call to preach. His first church assignment as Pastor was Vanleer E.U.B. Church in Vanleer, TN. He pastored there for three years. Subsequent churches that he pastored were: Edwards Chapel and Grants Chapel in East Tennessee, Whitwell Chapel and Cedar Grove in Perry County, TN. He pastored four United Brethren Churches in Ohio: Wren, Greenbrier, Liberty and Otterbein, moving back to Tennessee in 1970. He bought and operated a grocery store in Vanleer for several years, continuing to serve various churches in the area, preaching where needed.
