Montrey E. Cox, 73, Taylor Co., KY (1949-2022)

Montrey Elaine (Garrett) Cox, of the Mannsville Community of Elkhorn, passed away on Monday, October 24th, 2022, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center. She was 73 years old.

The funeral will be held at 1pmET on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Auberry Funeral Home, 503 East Main St., Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Auberry Funeral Home.


Montrey Elaine Cox, 73, of the Mannsville Community of Elkhorn, Kentucky, was born October 15th, 1949, in Taylor County to the late Mitchell Garrett and Mary Douglas Childers Garrett. She passed away on Monday, October 24th, 2022, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Cox professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. She was a retired set sleeve operator and worked in the shipping department at Fruit of the Loom for thirty plus years in Campbellsville. Montrey loved to mow her yard and spend time with her grandkids. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother.

She united in marriage to her husband, Charles Edward Cox on June 6th, 1975, and preceded her in death on May 3rd, 2014.

Survived by:
  • Two daughters: Heather Cox Mings and her husband, Michael of Mannsville, and Beth Davis and her husband, Kit, of Mannsville.
  • Two grandsons: Drake Mings and Cody Davis, both of Mannsville.
  • Other family and friends
Pallbearers: Doug Cox, Kerry Cox, Steven Smith, Logan Wicker, Robbie Passmore, Kit Davis, and Michael Mings.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in the form of donations to Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.
