Mozella Kelly Poynter, 95, Greensburg, KY (1926-2022)

Mozella Kelly Poynter of Greensburg passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. She was 95 years old.

The funeral services for Mozella Kelly Poynter will be conducted at 2pmCT on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Fry Baptist Church, with Bro. Larry Wisdom and Bro. Jared Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fry Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after NoonCT on Saturday at the Fry Baptist Church, until time of the funeral service.


Mozella Kelly Poynter, daughter of the late Porter T. Kelly and Stella Mavis Acree Kelly, was born on Sunday, November 28, 1926 in Green County.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church. She was also a retired machine operator for P. Sorensen Manufacturing Co. in Glasgow.

She united in marriage to Clyde Robert Poynter on June 2, 1951 who preceded her in death on January 30, 2013.

Survivors include a sister: Virginia "Gen" Beard of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Rebecca Kelly of Greensburg; nieces and nephews: John and Paula VanMeter of Greensburg, Billy and Dawn Blakeman of Campbellsville, and Darian and Stephanie Beard of Tennessee; great-nieces and great-nephews: Thomas and Becca Rayburn, Blake and Caylin Dudgeon, Brooke Richerson all of Campbellsville, Patrick and Oindrila VanMeter of Wisconsin, Justin and Faith VanMeter of Minnesota, Isabella Beard and Hailey Beard both of Tennessee; step-niece: Andi and Jerrett Coppage of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Poynter was also preceded in death by a brother: James Allen Kelly; and a brother-in-law: Henry "Buddy" Beard.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Fry Cemetery Fund or Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Phillip Keltner, Ryan Keltner, Kenny Wisdom, John VanMeter, Darian Beard, Billy Blakeman, Jim Hackle, Cary "Red" Dunbar, Ken Cook

Honorary Pallbearers: Green Hill Rehab and Care Center.
