Dr. Mike O'Neal to speak at CU chapel on Sept. 7 By Simon Baker Campbellsville, KY - Dr. Mike O'Neal, associate professor of theology, Old Testament and Hebrew at Campbellsville University, will present the university's second chapel service of the fall semester at 10amET on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky. O'Neal began attending church services at First Baptist at an early age, and it was not long after he began attending services, he accepted Christ as his Savior in 1978 and according to his biography, his mission has been to "glorify God by leading a local church to be healthy, vibrant and growing by obeying the Great Commission of Jesus Christ." After O'Neal graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1978, he received his Master of Divinity in 1990 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned his Ph.D. in Old Testament Theology in 1996, while "pastoring Columbia Baptist Church in Columbia." His biography further notes how O'Neal first began his ministry pastoring in a Texan Church, known as Garner Baptist. O'Neal has worked full-time at Campbellsville University since July 2017. He has also served on the Church Relations Council. In 2007, he published his book "Interpreting Habakkuk as Scripture" and has published numerous articles for Preaching Magazine.\0x202F O'Neal engages in various hobbies. Some examples from his biography are "[enjoying] music, physical fitness, reading and spending time with his family." His wife, Sarah, received her Master's in Special Education from Campbellsville University in 2013. O'Neal is a former member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees and pastor of Campbellsville Baptist Church. They have three children: Drew, Matthew and Rachel.
