Sammy B. Sexton, 80, Adair County, KY native (1942-2022)

Sammy B. Sexton, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

He was born on April 3, 1942 in Adair county, Kentucky to Loren and Edna (Compton) Sexton. Along with his parents, preceded in death by his brother, Bobbie Sexton; and his sister, Nancy Hagan.



He was a retired Stone Mason of 30 years and a member of Shively-Lewis-Parkland Lodge #951 for over 55 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandpa. Sammy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Sammy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Laverne Sexton; daughter, Monica Lynn (Lynn) Pierce; son, Samuel Wayne Sexton; grandchildren, Megan (Patrick) Maines, Erin (Aaron) Sullivan, Matthew Sexton, Brittany Sexton; great-grandchildren, Bradley Maines, Madison Maines, Callie Maines; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

The family requests that contributions in Sammy's memory be made to Hosparus. This obituary is a courtesy to the family by Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
