Lana Roy Day proclaimed in Columbia

Friday, July 29, 2022, has been proclaimed as "Lana Roy Day" in Columbia by Mayor Pamela Hoots. Roy is being recognized for over forty years of service with Signature Health Care at Summit Manor.

There will be a Retirement Party for Roy from 4pmCT to 6pmCT on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. The retirement reception will beheld at the Chamber of Commerce building, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.

The official proclamation reads:


  • Whereas, Lana Roy, has been employed by Summit Manor Signature Health for approximately forty years;

  • Whereas, she has been involved in the lives of many in our community;

  • Whereas, she has worked with hundreds of residents, employees, and families through the years;

  • Whereas, she has been an active part of our community;

  • Whereas, we want to recognize her on her retirement from Summit Manor Signature Health;

  • Whereas, she will be having a reception on Friday, July 29, 2022;

  • Therefore, we would like to recognize Friday, July 29, 2022, as "Lana Roy Day" in Columbia.

It's Lana Roy Day in Columbia

Parking was tight around Columbia's Training and Development Center Wednesday evening, July 27, 2022, due to the huge crowd of well wishers in attendance at the retirement event celebrating Lana Roy's years of service at Summit Manor Nursing Home. Lana is pictured here with her husband Dale, their son Ricky and daughter Amy. They were surrounded by family, friends and coworkers. In addition to the special event, the City of Columbia proclaimed Friday, July 29, as “Lana Roy Day” in recognition of her service.
