Rebecca Jane Foster, 51, Casey County, KY (1970-2022)

Rebecca Jane Foster, 51, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, of a long illness. She was born with Down Syndrome. God's mission for her was to teach about Down Syndrome and that each of us must work and contribute to our communities to the best of our abilities.

After attending Liberty Elementary School and Casey County High School, Rebecca worked for twenty-five years at Casey County Library until her health began to fail. She served one term on the national board of the Down Syndrome Congress.

Rebecca was born in Lexington on November 6, 1970, to Jerry Lee Foster and Vivian Sharleen Cochran Foster who survive. Rebecca is also survived by: sister Alice Lenore Foster McCallum; nephew Luke Foster McCallum; niece Riley Jane McCallum; niece Margaret Vivian McCallum, (all of the Boston, Massachusetts, area); maternal aunt Patricia Jean Adams Ewing, Campbellsville, Kentucky; paternal uncle John Watkins Foster, Boca Raton, Florida; and cousins.

She was blessed with extended families at First Christian Church of Liberty, the staff of Casey County Library, the clients and staff of First Family Adult Day Care, and the staff of Casey County Hospital. With her positive personality, Rebecca became the daughter, sister, or friend of everyone who met her.

No public visitation or funeral service will be held. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery. McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
