Nellie Karnes, 95, Columbia, KY (1926-2022)

Nellie Karnes of Columbia passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. She was 95 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with burial to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

The family requests visitation on Wednesday, June 15, from 11amCT until the service time at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.

Nellie was born on September 11, 1926 in Adair County, KY to the late Bob and Edith (Watson) Watson. She was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Winfrey Karnes, one brother Raymond Watson, one sister Maxine Allred, one-step brother Coy Watson, and one step-sister Ethel Robertson

Survivors Include:
  • One Daughter- Linda Pendleton of Columbia, KY
  • One Grandchild- Tracy Jones of Columbia, KY
  • Two Great Grandchildren- Courtney Green and Brittney Green
  • A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
