William Gene (Billy) Spoon, 75, Columbia, KY (1947-2022)

William Gene "Billy" Spoon of Columbia died on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Lexington VA Hospital in Lexington. He was 75 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 3pmCT on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Don Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery, with full Military honors provided by VFW Post 6097.

Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born in Columbia, KY on February 1, 1947, to the late Lida Mae Spoon Judd.

Billy attended the United House of Prayer Church and enjoyed watching UK basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Delores Spoon of Columbia, KY; a son Ronnie James Morgan of Columbia, KY; five grandchildren Chayton Morgan, Veronica Morgan, Jasmine Morgan, Curtis Bell and Nicole Burton and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a son Dwight Morgan and two brothers James Judd and Ray Spoon.
