Charles Edward Milby, 78, Green County, KY (1943-2022)

Charles Edward Milby of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Jim R. Milby and Virgie Alice (Milby) Milby, was born on Saturday, July 17, 1943 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his home. He was 78 years, 9 months, and 4 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a woodworker for the former Clark Casual Furniture Manufacturing from 1967 until 2002. He then worked for Heartland Custom Cabinets from 2002 until 2013. He loved his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, and also loved to fish in his free time. He was a member of the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM.



Survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Jean Vaughn Milby of Summersville having united in marriage on February 1, 1964.

Other survivors include his son-in-law: Jonah Sidebottom of Lower Gabe Community; two grandchildren: Daniel Lewis Sidebottom and Autumn Wheat Sidebottom both of Lower Gabe Community; a brother and sister-in-law: Ronnie O. and Pat Milby of Greensburg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth A. Milby of Campbellsville, Nancy Milby of Summersville, Ruby Milby of Louisville, William and Janice Vaughn and Donnie and Joyce A. Vaughn both of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, Mr. Milby was also preceded in death by his daughter: Sharon Lynn Sidebottom on September 10, 2021; a sister: Adell Durrett Martin; six brothers: Lucian Milby, Clell Milby, Thurman Milby, Theodore Milby, Alton Milby, and Alfred Milby.

The funeral services for Charles Edward Milby will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Leslie Jewell and Bro. David Wayne Vaughn officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4-8pmCT Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7am Sunday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River, Wilson Cemetery Fund, Gideon Bible Fund, or Alzheimer's Association.
