Kentucky Color: Yes, War is Hell

By Billy Joe Fudge
War is hell,
A necessary hell at times.
Necessary because,
Liberty is worth defending
Through hell
And till death,
It is, obligatory.

War is not evil,
For only oppressors
Who wage war are evil.
Defenders of liberty
Do not wage war,
They are contenders
Against evil.
Liberty’s defenders
Kill and are killed,
They live forever
In the hearts
Of those in
Freedom dwells.

Oppressors don’t kill,
They murder.
Oppressors murder
And die even while standing.
Death is a sure
And permanent torture
Of a,
Perpetual purgatory.
