ACSO: Scam alert

By Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

Over the last few days, the Sheriff's Office has seen an uptick in online scams. We are getting several that involve emails. While it may look like it comes from a familiar name, the email may be just slightly different. They are asking for updated information for payroll and personal identifiers.

Please be vigilant of these scams and do not reply to untrusted emails. Never give your personel or banking information over an email. If in doubt call the source and verify they are actually trying to contact you.

It is unknown if it is connected to world events but it is likely we will continue to see a rise in cyber crime. Please safe guard your personal information.
