Della Jean Redmon, 76, Columbia, KY (1945-2022)

Della Jean Redmon of Columbia passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Danville. She was 76 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10amCT on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrin Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Tuesday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

The family request that all attending wear a mask or face covering.


Della Jean Redmon was born on June 2, 1945 in Adair County, KY to the late David Burton and Reeda Burton.

Della attended the Freedom Separate Baptist Church and was a member of the Sano Stars Homemaker Club. She retired from Lindsey Wilson College Dining Center and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Carl Redmon of Columbia, KY; three children Lisa Robson (James) of Peru, IN, Rodney Redmon (Rhonda) of Columbia, KY and Bobbie Huckaby (Roger) of Columbia, KY; three grandchildren Carlee and Bailey Huckaby and Riley Redmon; one step grandchild and two step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jerome Burton and two grandchildren Andrea Townsend and Anthony Huckaby.
