CPD: Vehicle pursuit leads to arrest By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department On Saturday night, March 5, 2022, the Columbia Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Burksville Street. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped up and attempted to elude officers. Pursuit came to a stop on Wheeler Hill Road, off of Burksville Road, and a male driver was taken into custody. Terry Ervin, 33, of Columbia, has been charged with multiple traffic violations as well as DUI 3rd offense, open alcoholic beverage container, and fleeing and evading police in a motor vehicle 1st degree. Officer Trevor Foster was the arresting Officer. He was assisted by Deputy Chandler Staten and Trooper Jake Smith. This story was posted on 2022-03-06 09:16:46
