Philip Mason Blaydes, 81, Edmonton, KY (1940-2022) Philip Mason Blaydes of Edmonton passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Metcalfe Healthcare Center in Edmonton. He was 81 years old. Funeral Services for Philip Blaydes will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East St., Edmonton, KY. Burial will follow in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3pmCT until 8pmCT on Wednesday, and will continue after 9amCT on Thursday at the funeral home. Philip was born on August 8, 1940 to the late Davis and Winnie Blaydes. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Blaydes. He was a faithful member and trustee of Pleasant Ridge Church. He was a retired foreman of the KY Department of Transportation where he worked for almost 30 years. Philip enjoyed camping, fishing, farming, and spending time with his family and friends. Philip and Anita Blaydes married on January 27, 1962 and were only a few days short of their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife, Anita Blaydes; two daughters, Sherry (Randy) Keltner and Lee Ann (Carl) Edwards; one grandchild, Bryson Keltner; three step-grandchildren, Ben (Mary Katherine) Keltner, Candie (Pete) Bennett, and Courtney (Brian) King; six step-great-grandchildren, Austin Bennett, Lydia Bennett, Madlyn Keltner, Levi King, Adam Keltner, and Tatum King; two sisters, Peggy (Jerry) Turner and Jennie Carol (Clay) Slinker; one sister-in-law, Wanda Coffey; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
