EDA agenda for Tuesday, Jan 18, 2022 meeting

The Columbia-Adair County Economic Development Authority will hold a Board of Directors Meeting at 8amCT on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Chamber of Commerce basement meeting area at 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.

Meeting Agenda:


  • Presiding - Bobby Morrison, Chairman
  • Welcome, Call To Order, Determination of a Quorum, Pledge of Allegiance & Prayer

  • Business:
    • Approval of Minutes as presented - Kenzie Rowe, Secretary
    • Approval of Treasurer's Report as presented - Roger Meadows, Treasurer

  • New Business:
    • 1. Work with Qk4 on video and show final version of video

    • 2. Give everyone website info and email info & phone

    • 3. Update on 2nd entrance road, Sandusky connection, etc.

    • 4. Update on quitclaim deed -Kenzie & Mark

    • 5. Update on letter from KY Gov auditor - Roger

    • 6. Challenge all of you to look at Campbellsville-Taylor County EDA website & others

    • 7. Meeting with Heather Spoon on new website
      • a. Need updated photos & new
      • b. Put on Team KY website & updated info, etc.
      • c. I was really impressed with our new site and her work
      • d. Will put on links to Chamber of Commerce website
      • e. Will put on link to new Tourist website
      • f. Heather said hard work was done. She has spent at least 30+ hours at no cost us
      • g. Highly recommend that we start paying Heather for our work to continue to add pictures, important information, manage website, etc. She is really brilliant and excellent with technology/websites.
      • h. Heather also thought that we should keep our eyes open for someone to monitor website, check email, update, etc. Talked to Linda W. on and she agreed to coordinate with Heather on pictures needed for EDA website- she will review Columbia Magazine pictures & work on getting updated pictures to Heather at no charge (Sharon & Scott also shared some pictures)
      • j. We may also want to put links to Community Voice, Columbia Magazine, Adair Progress, Adair County, City of Columbia, Schools, Maybe other County/City sites, etc. Just to make it easy to quickly review find & review information on our wonderful community.

    • 8. Apologize for not giving fair attention (last month) for Columbia Magazine ad proposal - a front page side ad (24 hours a day, 365-days for a year that links to the EDA website) including promotional stories. The discounted price is matching the amount spent with the Community Voice.

    • 9. Update on Synergy Food Group - Mayor Pam Hoots

    • 10. Other business

  • Adjourn: Next regular meeting, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 8amCT

EDA meeting features new video of GR Commerce Park

Columbia Adair County Economic Development Authority (EDA) Chairman Bobby Morrison and Heather Spoon led the January board meeting Tuesday, sharing a new video created to help showcase the industrial park expansion on Hwy 55 North. Work has been progressing over the past year to get a second entrance to the park to make full use of all the acreage. Promotions are set to begin to let people know acreage is ready for businesses to locate here.
