Early January Spring Growth

Click headline for photos

By Mike Watson

There has been and may soon be more severe weather in our area. For a number of years, Ed and I would keep close watch on growth of Spring vegetation. Most years we could find some promise during the first half of January. Sometimes much later.

These two photos were taken Monday morning, January 10, 2022, in my back yard in Harrodsburg as I headed to Columbia for the work week.

Does this mean false Spring? Early Spring? Or that we may have our first blossoms of the year peeping through a bit of snow.

I keep watch for the first bloom to come forth.
