Mike Allen Burton, 61, Columbia, KY (1960-2021) Mike Allen Burton of Columbia passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Larue County. He was 61 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Tuesday morning until the funeral time at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 24, 1960 to Nathaniel 'Slick" Burton and the late Maydean Simpson Grant. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Don Grant. Mr. Burton attended the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mike enjoyed horseback riding, watching University of Kentucky basketball and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his father Nathaniel "Slick" Burton (Ada) of Columbia, KY; seven siblings Celesta Templin (Donald) of Glasgow, KY, Kenny Burton of Columbia, KY, Mark Grant (Courtney) of Friendswood, TX, Dawn Tew (Craig) of Leslie ID, Shannon Slinker (Geoff) of Provo, UT, Ashley Curry (Keith) of Columbia, KY and Paula Grant of Glasgow, KY; his dog Betty and several niece and nephews. Pallbearers will be Keith Curry, Justin Templin, Bo Simpson, Craig Tew, Geoff Slinker and Mark Grant. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
