Basketball: LWC Men to face Shawnee State on Thursday By Christopher Webster The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team returns home to face the defending NAIA National Champion No. 21 Shawnee State on Thursday night, December 2, 2021. Tipoff is scheduled for 8pmCT tomorrow at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (7-3, 0-2 MSC) defeated Webber International (FL) 92-85 in their last outing. Elijah Jordan and Payton Cundiff led Lindsey Wilson in scoring with 16 points apiece. Jamayus Jones chipped in 13 points along with four assists. Jordan leads the Blue Raiders in scoring averaging 15.1 points per game while shooting 66.7 percent from beyond the arc, second-best in the conference. Mark Edmond is seventh in the conference in rebounds per game with 6.9 and fifth in steals per game with 1.8. As a team, Lindsey Wilson averages 80 points per game while shooting 63.6 percent overall. The Bears (5-2, 1-1 MSC) enter the game after a 69-67 victory over Life (GA) to pick up their first conference win of the season. Elijah Bishop scored a game-high 17 points as Shawnee State overcame a three for 12 shooting performance from the three-point line to defeat the Running Eagles. Ranking seventh in the conference in scoring, Miles Thomas leads the Bears with 16.7 points per game. Latavious Mitchell controls the backboard for Shawnee State, averaging 7.6 rebounds per game, placing him at sixth in the conference. Along with rebounds, Mitchell also ranks in the top-10 in steals per game with a ninth-best 1.6. As a team, Shawnee State averages 77.4 points per game while shooting 67.1 percent overall from the floor. This will be the 26th all-time meeting between these two programs. Lindsey Wilson leads the series 17-8. The Blue Raiders dropped the last meeting 90-70 on Jan. 21, 2021. Cundiff recorded 10 points, shooting three for six from beyond the arc.
