ACSO: Injury collision involving school bus on Liberty Road

By Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

On Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 2:04pmCT, Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch was dispatched to a collision on Liberty Road, two miles east of Columbia.

Preliminary investigation indicates Roy Ingram was operating a 2012 General Motors bus west on KY 206. Ingram left the roadway to avoid a head-on collision when David Whitlock, age 66, who was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger, crossed over the line into the lane of the school bus. Ingram was unable to regain control of bus and struck a tree.

Cynthia Sullivan, a passenger on the bus, was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia for treatment of injuries sustained on impact. There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision.

The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation
