ACSO: Sunday morning shooting results in Sunday evening arrest

On Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 1:19amCT, Deputy Chandler Staten received a call from Adair 911 Dispatch to respond to the TJ Health Emergency Room for a reported gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 17 year old juvenile who had been shot in the left shoulder. The juvenile was later transferred to University of Louisville Hospital. Preliminary investigation shows the incident happened on Jones Chapel Road around 1amCT. There were several people present, with some consuming alcohol.

Around 6pmCT on Sunday, October 24, 2021, the Adair County Sheriff's Office, along with state troopers, executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant on Jones Chapel Road.


Sedreck Dennis, 18, of Adair County, was arrested on charges of wanton endangerment 1st degree and assault 1st degree.

The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation, with Deputy Staten leading.
