Creason discusses missions work at Missions Fair By Daisy Rodriguez Campbellsville, KY - Campbellsville University has a mission. "Our hope is to remain true to the Great Commission and find ways to serve as a campus community in the effort to make the Gospel known and make disciples," Trent Creason said. Creason addressed those attending the recent Missions Fair Sept. 23 during Missions Week Sept. 20-23 on campus. Creason is the former director of student activities at CU and is the new campus minister. He has served in many capacities on multiple committees that have led him to more Christ-related positions including being a chapel coordinator for Kentucky Christian Academy. Creason said, "Providing mission trips as an avenue for students, faculty and staff to serve and grow has a long history at CU. The hope is that while we are serving, lasting community develops, and students have opportunities to grow and discern where and how God may be leading them to serve in the future. "We often work with CU alumni continuing the tradition of working together but also providing avenues for students to make meaningful and fruitful connections for the future." Creason said a large portion of the university's mission trips occur during spring break. "We often have trips available during winter break and at the beginning of the summer as well," he said. "This year there will be trips to Florida, Alaska, Seattle, Los Angeles and New Orleans during spring break. We will also be leading a trip to Atlanta focusing on refugee ministries in December," Creason said. "I encourage all students to pray about finding an opportunity to be a part of a trip during this unique time of their lives but there are many ways to play a role in helping support these trips. The first and most important is to pray. "Pray for those going, pray for the places they will be serving, pray for safety and the details that surround the trips. Donations can also be given to help fund students on the trips that can be made through the Office of Campus Ministries," Creason said. Creason has served as the associate pastor at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church in Campbellsville for the past 11 years. He is married to Sarah and has three children: Nehemiah, Evelynn and Levi. As he is serving the Lord through his work, he has also improved his knowledge of Christ and discipleship by having a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry through Campbellsville University and a Master of Arts in Family and Discipleship from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
