Kentucky Color: The Chase

By Billy Joe Fudge

Each day is an adventure,
Trophies to be pursued.
Each blink of the eye reveals,
A scene to be perused.

Soft morning sunlight sped past,
Warming Cane Valley knoll,
Coloring the sky ahead,
Marking the spot of gold.

The race was on as I sped
Rapidly through the Burg;
Chasing after the treasure
About which I had heard.

But the bow was far ahead-
And my chase had to end;
The pot was beyond the Green,
Somewhere in Lemon’s Bend!
