Silent City Tour 2021: In-person performances cancelled

By Mike Watson

The Silent City Tour for 2021 has been canceled due to health concerns as numbers of positive Covid-19 cases continue to increase. The presenters were ready to go, but in the best interest of the audience, the decision was made to use the alternative method of presentation--video posted via YouTube.

The presenters this year are: LeeAnn Jessee as Sara "Sallie" Rae Marcum, Dave Thomas as J.W. Hurt, Richard Phelps as Elijah Creel, and Mike Watson as Milton P. Wheat.

To access the four presentations at any time after they are posted on Monday: Access YouTube.com then search "Silent City Tour 2021" or go to the Adair County Public Library YouTube channel to find the 2021 presentations as well as the Silent City Tours of 2016 and 2020.

Watch and enjoy. If you have any problems, call the Adair County Genealogy and History Research Center at 270-380-1024 and we will talk you through. Links will also be posted here on ColumbiaMagazine.com as well as on the Library and local Genealogy and History FaceBook pages.
