Golf: LWC prepared for The Invite at Innisbrook this week

By Kyle Jackson

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's golf teams are back in action this week as they'll travel to Palm Harbour, Florida for the Invite at Innisbrook. The men will play on the Copperhead course while the women are set to play on the North Course.

Both programs are coming off top-five finishes at their home event in the Blue Raider Invitational at The Pines this past week.

The men's team placed a program-best 17 strokes under par in the second round to win the competition with Janik Hawlitzky winning the contest individually. The women placed second at the invitational with Malene Clausen just missing out on the individual title in the playoff.

This will be the second competition so far this season for the men and the third for the women as they opened their season a week earlier than the men with a fourth-place finish at The Players Club Invitational on September 11th.

20 teams will be participating in the event on the men's side with 15 competing on the women's over the next two days. The Blue Raiders will also face competition from fellow Mid-South Conference opponents Campbellsville University and Cumberland (TN).

The event is scheduled to start at 8:30am Monday morning.
