Soccer: LWC Men to host Pikeville tonight By Kyle Jackson The No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (2-1-1, 1-0 MSC) will continue Mid-South Conference play tonight when they host Pikeville (KY) (0-3, 0-1 MSC) at 7pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. In the previous match, the Blue Raiders opened conference play picking up a late victory against Shawnee State (OH). Alexander Koziolek put away the game winning penalty in the 89th minute to win the match 3-2 and go 1-0 in conference play so far this season. As for the Bears of Pikeville, they enter tomorrow's match after losing 6-0 to Campbellsville University Tuesday night. The Tigers, with five different goal scorers, found three goals in each half winning big over the Bears to start their conference schedule. Koziolek is having a dream start to the season, leading the Blue Raider offense with three goals and an assist so far this season. Meanwhile, Cyrus Harmon and Nathaniel Onyina Opoku have both scored and assisted a goal this year. As a team, Lindsey Wilson have outshot their opponents 60-38 this year scoring eight goals. It has not been an easy start to the season to say the least for Pikeville as senior forward Favio Govea has the only goal on the season so far for the Bears. As a team, Pikeville has been outscored 15-1 through four games and outshot 55-30. This will be the 20th all-time meeting between these two programs with the first meeting taking place on October 18, 2005. Not counting the forfeited season in 2014, Lindsey Wilson has never lost to Pikeville in their all-time history, going 19-0 against the Bears. Live video and live stats will be available for the match. This story was posted on 2021-09-24 15:12:19
