Golf: LWC Men in 3rd at Blue Raider Invitational By Kyle Jackson The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team currently sits in third place at the Blue Raider Invitational at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders combined to shoot 289 at the par-71, 6,247-yard design. Janik Hawlitzky currently sits tied for second after firing a round of 69 to start the invitational. The sophomore from Karlsruhe, Germany racked up five birdies and 11 pars on the day. Shane Henderson sits just outside of the top-ten tied for 11th place after hitting an opening round of 72. The sophomore racked up two birdies and 13 pars to start his invitational. Sebastian Sandin and Etienne Rensburg are both tied for 15th after hitting opening rounds of 73. Sandin's round featured two birdies and 12 pars while Rensburg managed two birdies and 12 pars. Just a little further down the order sits Callum Burns and Juan Garcia who are both tied for 19th after hitting opening rounds of 74. Burns's round featured 15 pars while Garcia managed two birdies and 12 pars. Alfie Yearsley sits in 35th after an opening-round score of 78. AJ Shagool sits tied for 37th after a score of 80. Evan Kidd finishes his day 43rd with a score of 85 while Chase Carpenter sits in 45th with a score of 91. Jarrett Napier finishes off the score sheet for the Blue Raiders in 46th with a score of 103. Campbellsville University is in first place after an opening-round score of 278 while Midway (KY) sits in second a stroke ahead of the Blue Raiders at 288. Round Two of play was begun in the late afternoon and was halted due to darkness. The Blue Raiders will return tomorrow to wrap up rounds two and three in the Blue Raider Invitational.
