Adair Co. Fiscal Court Recap

By Gale Cowan
Adair Co. Judge Executive

The Adair County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. We had our normal agenda items along with a few action items:
  • 1. Approved first reading of a revised animal ordinance
  • 2. Approved first reading of an updated pay scale for jail employees. All other departments are also being looked at, but weren't complete for tonights meeting.
  • 3. Sheriff's Department Vehicle Discussion - this was tabled for more input from Sheriff Brockman as he was absent from the meeting to attend the Kentucky Sheriff's Association Conference.
  • 4. Animal Shelter Air/Heat unit - item was tabled to obtain a second quote.
  • 5. The court voted to gather information regarding Essential Pay for County employees to send to a third party company that is assisting several counties with questions and legalities of the ARPA funds.

The next meeting of the Fiscal Court was scheduled for the 28th of this month at 4pmCT. Due to several magistrates being scheduled for training that day in Lexington, the next meeting will now be considered a Special Called meeting (due to date change) and will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Jim Blair Community Center at 4pmCT.

The new AC unit that has been ordered for months for the Adair Co. Jail was finally delivered and installed today.

We ask that any constituents in District 7 that need assistance to please call the Adair Co. Judge's Office at 270-384-4703 until further notice as Magistrate Terry Hadley suffered a medical emergency this morning and is in a Louisville Hospital. Please pray for him and his family.
