Henry F. (Buddy) Beard, 86, Greensburg, KY (1935-2021)

Henry F. "Buddy" Beard of Greensburg passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was 86 years old.

Graveside services for Henry F. "Buddy" Beard will be conducted at 4pmCT on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the Fry Cemetery in Green County, with Bro. Larry Wisdom officiating.

Open to public: The funeral procession will leave from Cowherd & Parrott at 3:15pmCT to Fry Baptist Cemetery for the graveside service.


Henry F. "Buddy" Beard, son of the late Richard Beard and Hallie Dangerfield Beard Nunn, was born on Tuesday, April 23, 1935 in Green County.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church. He went to school in Green County. He owned his own business, working as an auto-body technician at Green River Auto Body for 40 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed camping, go kart & car races, painting, building models, and spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Kelly "Gen" Beard of Greensburg, having united in marriage on October 6, 1962.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Dawn Beard-Blakeman and Billy Blakeman of Campbellsville; a son and daughter-in-law: Darian and Stephanie Beard of Gallatin, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Thomas (Becca) Rayburn, Blake (Caylin) Dudgeon, Brooke (Blake) Richerson, Isabella Beard, Hailey Beard; a step-grandchild: Andi (Jerrett) Coppage; eight great-grandchildren: Kelsay Rayburn, Carter Richerson, Nadilynn Dudgeon, Oliver Richerson, Kennedy Rayburn, Carsen Dudgeon, Kenzy Rayburn, and Mason Rayburn; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Beard was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother: Mary Jane Rodgers and Rollin Beard.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Fry Baptist Church or the Fry Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
