Heather Spoon assists EDA with communications

The Columbia-Adair county EDA July 2021 meeting began about the same time as amazon.com owner Jeff Bezos launched a short journey to space in his rocket ship, New Shepard. Both events were successful.

Of the three partners in the Columbia Adair Training and Development Center property - Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Authority and Tourism Commission - each entity is working on its digital profile and contact methods to continuously improve service.

Among communications improvement efforts for EDA, Heather Spoon is giving her help and experience. She has gotten lights installed on the newly updated entrance sign at Green River Industrial Park so it can now also be seen at night.

She was approved to add temporary signs for high traffic weeks through the Labor Day - Columbia's Hwy 55 is a major artery from all points north to Lake Cumberland, Green River Lake and Dale Hollow Lake.

The signs will simply state "acreage available" and provide contact information directly to one of the Board members.

Next regular meeting of the EDA will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 8amCT on the lower level of the building at 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia. All meetings are open to the public.
