Taylor Co. leads local area in vaccinations, trails state

According to data on the Kentucky COVID-19 Dashboard, south central Kentucky lags the state in vaccination rates. Statewide, about 60 percent of those over 18 years of age have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Taylor County is closest to the statewide average, with over 51% of those over 18 vaccinated, and Russell County is close at 46%. Adair County is near the bottom, with just 36% percent of our over-18 population vaccinated.
  • Adair: 36.4% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Casey: 34.29% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Cumberland: 36.28% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Green: 39.92% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Metcalfe: 37.42% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Russell: 46.03% of 18+ population vaccinated
  • Taylor: 51.79% of 18+ population vaccinated
Vaccines are readily available at a number of Adair County locations. Vaccination appears to be the simplest way to protect communities from the spread of the Delta Variant of COVID-19, which is currently spreading rapidly in the Commonwealth.
