Demiere Brown signs with LWC Basketball By Kyle Jackson Demiere Brown is set to join the Lindsey Wilson Men's Basketball team for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign, head coach Chris Starks announced on Thursday. "We are really excited about the signing of Demiere. He is the type of player that you have to have to be able to compete for a championship in the Mid-South Conference. Demiere is an extremely versatile inside/out scorer who will be a match-up nightmare for opponents the next two years." Starks said. Brown joins the Blue Raiders after completing the first two seasons of his career at Kilgore College where he was named to the NJCAA All-Region XIV Second Team in his sophomore year. Brown most recently spent the 2019-20 season with Stephen F. Austin where he redshirted his junior year. He is a six-foot-six-inch forward from Powder Springs, Georgia. In his first two seasons at Kilgore, Brown managed 41 starts in 63 total appearances and averaged a combined team best 23.6 points per game (PPG) and 12.9 rebounds per game (RPG). On two occasions, Brown managed to score 20-plus points in a game, including dropping a career-high 30 points against Navarro College in the second round of the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament. Brown concluded his junior college career with 10 double doubles, where on one occasion he netted 13 points and collected a career-best 16 rebounds in a victory over Cedar Valley. "Demiere is a versatile combo forward who has great touch and feel for the game. He is a fun loving guy who likes to enjoy life and gets along well with his teammates." Says Kilgore College head coach Brian Hoberecht. This story was posted on 2021-07-15 16:30:35
