LWC Baseball 2021 Rewind By Kyle Jackson The Lindsey Wilson baseball team corralled a 23-23 overall record alongside a 13-11 mark in the Mid-South Conference during the 2021 campaign. The Blue Raiders earned a No. 4 seed in the Mid-South Conference tournament and advanced past the Opening Round while claiming a victory over Bethel (TN) in the double-elimination tournament held at the Bowling Green Ballpark. Lindsey Wilson finished 2021 as one of the best offensive teams in the MSC. From the plate, the Blue Raiders averaged 7.3 runs per game on 10 hits per game. LWC scored double-digit runs in 16 games while managing double-digit hits in 20 contests. Derek Zavala led the team in hits with 57 while Seth Price was right behind with 55. Henry Paulino managed a team-high 39 RBIs and 14 home runs. From the mound, Cohen Achen guided the way with a team-low 2.38 ERA through 64 1/3 innings pitched. Brady Cappe managed a team-leading 12 starts and 71 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings, while Kyle Collin garnered the best pitching record on the team at 7-0. A handful of players this season moved up the ranks in the program's all-time career and season top 10 list in respective categories. Zavala climbed his way into a tie for seventh all-time on the season stolen bases list with 23 this year. He also jumped up into sole possession of fourth all-time in career stolen bases with 44 total. Tyler Maskill also found his way onto the all-time career stolen bases list at eighth with 38. From the mound, Achen's 2.38 ERA sits eighth lowest all-time on the season ERA list, while Cade Duncan ascended up into a tie for 10th all-time in career saves at five.
