Board of Education accepting applications for vacant seat The Adair County Board of Education is now seeking applications for appointment to fill the vacancy on the Board representing District 3, after Lisa Burton's retirement. This appointment will be effective until the November 2022 regular election. Dr. Pamela A. Stephens, Superintendent says, "We will interview as we receive applications. We plan to appoint and have new board member sworn in at the July 22, 2021 board meeting." Responsibilities of board members include: setting policy to govern the District; hiring/evaluating the Superintendent, and levying taxes and adopting the District budget.
