Genevee Ware, 79, Adair County, KY (1942-2021)

Genevee Ware, of Columbia, passed away on June 17, 2021, at Baptist Health in Louisville. She was 79.

Born on March 16, 1942, in Adair Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Kathryn Brockman Woody. She was a member of the Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, Gospel music, and her family. Her great-grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom.



Survivors include three grandchildren, Alex (Breanne) Ware of Mt. Washington, Alan (Jade) Ware of Mt. Washington, and Ethan (Abby) Ware of Louisville; a sister, Joan Wethington of Louisville; three great-grandchildren, Colton, Harper, and Tatum; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband that she married on December 24, 1960, Lucian Ware, who passed away on February 15, 2016; a son, Rodney Ware; and a brother, Gerald Woody.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET Monday, June 21, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11-2 Monday.
