Wanda Lee Helm, 80, Greensburg, IN (1941-2021)

Wanda Lee Helm of Greensburg, Indiana, formerly of Adair County, passed away at 2:40 p.m., May 18, 2021, at Heritage House in Greensburg, Indiana. She was 80 years old.

The graveside service was held at 10amET on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana, with Sister Jan Wray officiating.


Wanda was born April 23, 1941 in Indianapolis, the daughter of William and Mary (Turner) Wooldridge. She married Bill Crawhorn in 1961, who preceded her in death in 2007. She later met and married Avery Helm in 1991, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2017.

Wanda was a very happy person. She loved everybody, disliked very few, but she still loved them. She loved her children and grandchildren. Some of her favorite things included dogs, children, orange soda and various foods. Wanda was very thankful for her family. Her second family at the Heritage House in Greensburg, lovingly referred to her as Granny. Angie Purdue at the Heritage House went above and beyond to see that Wanda had not just the things that were needed, but her wants as well. Wanda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorials may be made to the Blake family through the funeral home.

Survivors include children, Patricia (Ron) Blake, Columbus, and Brenda Crawhorn, Russell Springs, Kentucky; step children, Lynn (Lucy) Helm, Della (Jr) Murrell, Darrell (Tammy) Helm, Kelin (Peggy) Helm and Diane (Ricky) Gaskins, all of Columbia, Kentucky; grandchildren, Benjamin and Christopher Garner, Brandon, Brian, and Brenda Kay Crawhorn, Bethany LeeAnn Atchley and several step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; her husband, Avery; sons, Jr. Crawhorn and Donnie Crawhorn; grandsons, Matthew and Jason Garner.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.jewellrittman.com.
