LWC Track & Field: 2nd day of NAIA National Championship

Gulf Shores, AL - The Lindsey Wilson men and women's track and field team completed the second day of competition at the NAIA National Championship on Thursday.

Emilija Kusic turned in a runner-up finish in the heptathlon - a 16 women field -- climbing up the leaderboard from her position in seventh place after the first day's four events. Kusic took first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.85-meters. She added a second-place finish during the javelin with a mark of 36.87-meters before turning in a ninth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes and 28.81 seconds.

With the results, the Lindsey Wilson freshman earned NAIA All-American honors.


Jaylun Wallace punched his ticket to tomorrow's finals of the 400-meter dash after claiming the sixth-fastest time with a mark of 47.84 seconds.

Ahumad Williams competed in the 110-meter hurdles where he turned in an 11th place finish after crossing the finish line in 14.38 seconds. He competed against 32 athletes in the event.

Elias Foor also competed for the Blue Raiders where he turned in the 23rd place finish in the discus. His best toss came via his first throw, a mark of 40.07-meters.

Ty'Nasia Walker competed in the triple jump where she leaped 10.91-meters to finish in 29th place.

The third and final day of the NAIA National Championship begins Friday at 1pmCT.
