LWC Track & Field competes at 3 events over the weekend

The Lindsey Wilson College Track and Field team competed at Mount Olive First Chance and Multi, the Aggie Classic Twilight, and the Rio Grande Last Chance Meet over the weekend.

Mount Olive First Chance and Multi
The women's track and field team took three top three finishes in the Mount Olive First Chance and Multi event on Friday and Saturday.

Tatiana Williams took first place in the triple jump, leaping for 11.19 meters while Ty'Nasia Walker jumped for 5.61 meters in the long jump for a second-place finish. Emilija Kusic finished third in the heptathlon, scoring 4,683 points, securing an "A" cut in the event.


As for the men, Justin Borden and Jelle Goldbach both took second place in the high jump after tying one another with a jump of 1.94 meters. Tevon Williamson finished sixth in the same event, jumping for 1.84 meters.

Aggie Classic Twilight
Henriette Hawlas had the best finish for the Blue Raiders in the Aggie Classic Twilight after placing a sixth-place finish in the high jump, leaping for 1.60 meters. Tatiana Williams placed ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.21 meters while Ty'Nasia Walker finished 12th in the long jump with a 4.60-meter jump.

For the men, Jaylun Wallace finished 17th in the 200-meter dash with a time of twenty-two point nine seconds and finished 11th in the 400-meter dash after placing a time of 48.70 seconds. K'ron Sherald finished 19th in the same 400-meter event with a time of 50.19.

The best on-track result of the day came from the 110-meter hurdles as Ahmud Williams took a fifth-place finish and an "A" cut with a time of 14.57. Meanwhile, the four-man team of Brendan Parham, Josiah Harris, K'ron Sherald and Jaylun Wallace took fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with an overall time of 3:18.88 seconds.

Borden took fourth in the high jump, leaping for 1.90 meters with Goldbach finishing fifth with the same result but one less attempt. Williamson took seventh in the same event, jumping for 1.80 meters.

Rio Grande Last Chance Meet
Elias Foor had quite the day on the track in the Rio Grande Last Chance Meet as the Mid-South Conference Freshman and Athlete of the year tallied two "B" cuts in both the shot put and discus throw events.

In the shot-put throw, Foor threw for 15.47 meters to secure a third-place finish while Austin Campbell threw for 14.95 meters and a fourth-place finish. Foor threw for 47.60 meters in the discus throw, winning the event while Austin Campbell threw for 44.32 meters to finish third.

The Blue Raiders now move onto NAIA Nationals that will take place May 26-28 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
