Time capsule opened at Columbia United Methodist

From George Kolbenschlag

Columbia United Methodist Church Pastor Rob Hoffman and congregation opened a time capsule that had been buried in 1996. The Children and Youth groups dug it up during the week prior to Sunday's service and everyone looked forward to seeing what's in there.

Contemporary Worship Director Ben Martin, Bessie Willis and Jane Keltner were pictured looking over a church bulletin from the year 1996 and checked items placed in a time capsule at Columbia United Methodist.

Maggie Coleman was pictured among those at Columbia UMC opening and viewing contents of the time capsule. She said one of the most meaningful things she saw among the items in the capsule was the photo of Traci Pooler teaching Sunday School to Kenzie and Beverly’s child.

One of the sweetest items was from Cortney Rowe, a letter directed to the Sunday School class of today. It read:
To The Class 2021
My name is Cortney Rowe. I am 7.
I am in the 1st and 2nd grade class.
My teacher is Mrs. Hefner.
We leern about Jesus and Gods Love.
We read, color, make things. We have fun.
3/3/96
